Never heard of Miller and Carter before but that place was always a Beefeater 'steak house' after being a pub. I think the pub name was The Old George'.
As a Beefeater place it had a poor reputation..... but it may have changed?

finding a decent pub south of the A64 is near impossible !!! Its completely out of my geographical area so have run out of ideas. Now if we had a proper northern meet I have a huge selection to choose from

So having wasted too much time searching the web & reading review after review on trip advisor, we are reverting back to our trusted Curry house.
