My 911E

Post by 911GP »

Hello,
I have been using this excellent site since I bought my car late last year and haven't had a proper chance to introduce myself and my car. It is a silver RHD 1973 911E and chassis/engine indicate it is one of the last F-series 911E cars made. The car is in a very sorry state body wise and I am a bit embarrassed to post pictures of it on here. The good news is that it has retained many of its original features. The car is booked for restoration later this year so hopefully you erudite fellows can all assist me to bring this car back to its original splendour. Until then, here are some photos (I hope this works):

Fair chance it's a matching engine for a late car.......... Single bolt fan strap.

Anybody got a similar strap for sale?

Looks like a very worthwhile project GP.

Regards
Mike

I have been fortunate enough to have a slot booked with Chesterton Coachworks for the bodywork and will be using GDC Automotive for strip and rebuild. Some of the interior (seats etc) are booked in for restoration with Southbound.

Thanks Mike, the COA confirms the car has matching engine and gearbox. The previous owner removed the regulator housing/flapper box when the heat exchangers were changed many years ago to SSI when they did not accommodate this part for MFI cars. I still have the part in a box so will be looking to fit this back later.
