Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there
Hello,
Has anyone ever bought anything from Chronext (www.chronext.co.uk) ? They seem to be selling new and good s/h watches at well below the regular UK dealer prices. Maybe they're relying on prices being cheaper in Germany ?

Really like that Jason.. Don't take this the wrong way, but the bezel reminds me of some of the huge cased seiko divers

This style of bezel has actually been a military spec bezel since the early 60's Ben - here it is on an Omega Seamaster 300smallspeed wrote:Really like that Jason.. Don't take this the wrong way, but the bezel reminds me of some of the huge cased seiko divers

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there
Hello
I've been thinking about buying an automatic watch for some time, and after a bit of research (looking at pictures for the one I thought looked the best rather than fussing about movements) I decided to go for a Unimatic Uno (http://www.unimaticwatches.com/). They're a startup, and this is their first watch. I met Simone (the designer) today when I went to pick it up. He's quite young, and very keen to get into doing watch design full time. I generally got a good vibe from them, and I thought the watch looked great. My photos below are a bit shite, but there's some nice ones on their site.
They're assembled in Italy, but the company is incorporated in London. They've got another design in the pipeline too.

That's a very nice watch Ian !
Reminds me of a classic Squale diver and 40 - 41 mm without crown is a decent but not silly size. The Seiko NH35A
movement is well regarded and accurate. The price point is competitive and I like that they haven't taken pretentious pictures of it with an
aeroplane or classic car in order to quadruple the price like some relatively ' new ' companies insist on doing.
A proper simple, stylish and elegant modern every day / divers watch.
Well done and enjoy !

Cheers! Had to google Squale - I see what you mean. I think there are quite a few influences in the design. Good effort for a first product though.
