Re: Project Binky - you need to see this
My hill climb class mate took a Z-Car's Mini space frame and f'glass body 'bubble' and added the whole running gear from an EVO 1 with a very short prop shaft. Stunningly fast.
Love these kind of cars.
The bonnet solution is very nice but so complicated for the few times you actually need access, but a solution, and beautifully executed.

Some of the steering geometry was above my pay grade, but I loved the gearshift relocation stuff

Re: Project Binky - you need to see this
Way back, A friend bought Fiat 127 that had an X19 engine and 5 speed box fitted. The guys ( DIY job) who converted this hadn't considered bump steer and I fully appreciate the effects of getting this wrong ! It was scary in a straight line, you had no idea if it would chuck you left or right ! I'd never really thought about Ackerman before.
This is the first Project Binky I've seen, and I'm really impressed. Great work, well presented. I need to watch some more.

Re: Project Binky - you need to see this
They obviously have the skills but the amount of rework they are doing is getting a bit silly. Every episode they seem to have to cut and shut something they have already 'finished'.
Perhaps better to mock it all up first?
Also would have thought that a tubular 'subframe' at the front would afford more room to accommodate the suspension setup, without big chunks of steel box section getting in the way?
It is a good show though!
