Spa Classic , 22nd - 24th May 2015

Post by hot66 »

No internet access for the lads where they are staying .... But I've Brocken away and got limited access

You'll be pleased to know the party boat was swinging ... Sore head for me
Spa is great as always, sun was shining on Friday :)
Friday night was party night in Simon, Micks and Marks cabin with whisky and music galore ... Sladey was also happy to demonstrate his new LED lights to all when ever asked ;)

I've left them all now and headed into deepest darkest Germany for a road trip.

I LOVE autobahn so

I've been told those chalets are 'grim'
Maybe nobody has noticed yet for one reason or another!

Paddock looks Very Quiet?
In the Sept meeting you would see 10 x the people down there.

Agree, very cool road trip.

Back from another fantastic trip to Spa...it was really really great !!! Thanks to Jason for all the organising, top job ! ( I promise you that the grey car does exist though ).

A weekend full of laughter, racing cars, Bangin' tunes and more laughter. I can't speak for Richard, but I think it was the perfect send off for both of us. This was my last DDK meet-up for awhile, I did keep my emotions in place during the goodbye hugs, but I did have a sniffle on the drive home.....followed by outbursts of laughter thinking back

It has been a pleasure driving with all of you boys and trying to keep up over the years, many happy memories and more importantly many friendships made. Until the next time, where ever it may be...

Some pics, plenty more to come...including the mother of all Montages

Ok so the Modrod did not make it, but the red 912 performed great. After a slight issue of not restarting enroute on Friday, flooring it from La Source and through Eau Rouge was epic !!

A bitter sweet weekend for me.....fantastic to catch up with everybody and great fun as ever.

A top event with the best people, a beautiful location, a hell of a track, mind blowing cars, track laps that will be forever etched in my memory, perfect weather, laugh out load banter and the best EVER car 'find' story I've ever heard.....all in all a perfect weekend. Huge thanks to Jason for his organisation, it really is much appreciated :)

However as wonderful as the weekend was I couldn't help but drive back with a heavy heart having said goodbye to two of the very best friends I've made on DDK as they're about to start new lives on the other side of the world. Sure we'll keep in touch here and elsewhere as we always have but I can't help feeling that any future DDK event will have a massive hole missing without Chris and Richard there. I'm going to miss you boys

I'm afraid my photos are pretty much the same old stuff although these two brought a smile......

There or not, you can bet we'll be thinking of, and drinking for, you. Best of luck guys.....

As with everything in life, it's all about the people. DDK's finest....

What can I say but another fantastic weekend, the perfect ingredients, sunshine, driving, racing, drinking, and good all round banter with friends

Well done Jason on the organisational front. Thanks for paying for the digs, very generous of you.

The only sad point to the weekend is the loss of 2 DDK members who are going off to work in sunnier climbs. As said by Darren, it was with a heavy heart to say goodbye to you both and I am in no doubt you will be missed on the next DDK event.

Good luck to both of you and I hope the future works out well for you.

Cracking weekend. Great banter, bangin choons and the track laps were great value for money - we got about 30 minutes on track
