Correct Aerials and Speaker for 912 1967?

That are the correct speaker & aerial for my 912? Anybody know of a good source?

Original speaker is 4" x 8" (230 x 110 cms)? I've found these so far but I'm a bit surprised by the cost

I spoke to Mike from chrome london and he reccomends a modern internal aerial - seems the right choice for many reasons. Probably worth calling him as he has orignal spec and modersn and will also be able to advise re speakers - he's very helpful and knows his stuff. He's also an advertiser on DDK.

You can still buy the speaker from Porsche. It's around £80

Speaker for your car is unnaturally expensive, I agree. I bought mine from Koenigs along with the Hirschmann antennae

Remember if you fit the antennae on the wing, which will give you trouble free reception on all wave bands, in the correct position, with a bottom support, which is important because where the antennae is sited it is double skinned so you cannot tighten down the top nut too tight as it will crease the wing
To do this you have to remove the door as the antennae fits behind the splash panel.

Internal antennas are ok for FM but you will get lots of interference and fade on MW / LW / SW

Thanks Lee. I'm not sure I like the idea of trying the door off to fit the aerial since I think you need a special tools to get the bolts out. Therefore an internal aerial maybe the way forward for me.

Anybody know if they were manual or automatic aerial originally? I'm asking because Previously on a 68, that some w*nker stole from me, I had an automatic aerial.

I'd say definitely manual. The correct position would not accept an electric antenna as the motor on the bottom would be in the way. At that time two piece electric antennas were not available. An electric antenna would only fit in front of the splash panel and the factory would not fit it there as it would be exposed to the elements and corrode
