seasons greetings
Hi all, Im Neil, long time lurker and reader thats finally got around to joining up. As is traditional, I post a pic of my car, its an '89 SSE 3.2 cabrio in fetching blue-rinse diamant blau. Ive had it around 4 years and bought it as a rolling restoration project. To date I've done one kidney and sill but the body generally appears very good. Mechanically, Ive replaced CV joints, brakes all round, and a new steering rack. Its done 80K miles and now needs a new exhaust and oil scavenge pipe replacing. Removing the heat exchangers is therefore my next job which may result in an engine drop depending on how I get on with the infamous exhuast studs. This is my first porsche, I am long-term pre-war bike fanatic, and saw the 911 as a progression because of the dry sump and air cooled engine simplicity.Anyway, I loom forward to gettign to know you and a happy new year !

If so then it's super-mega-rare
And don't listen to uncle Keith, SSE was the 'Special Sports Equipment' option they listed for a standard Carrera before the Super Sport became an official model in 87. As an 89 yours is therefore a Super Sport not an SSE. Apparently.

thanks guys. No Sam, I dont think its an anniversary model, no scribble, but it is the annivsersary colour with the matching fuchs wheels. I think its still quite rare, opinons seems to differ on numbers though. I have some old bumpff from the PO club supersport register that suggests there were as few as a couple of dozen rhd supersport cabrios imported to the UK between 87 and 89. Other online references suggest there could be as many as 300 rhd 3.2's worldwide, but this is one of the few Ive seen that was delivered without the whaletail or chin spoiler, which I like
