Classic 24 Hour Daytona

Post by Mitch »

Last day today of Classic 24 Hour at Daytona and it seems to have gone under the radar; maybe they're keeping a low profile on this side of the pond.

The event site doesn't have much going on http://www.classic24hour.com/

But their FB page is being updated https://www.facebook.com/classic24hour

Along with Historic Sportscar Racing https://www.facebook.com/HSRrace?fref=ts

Some great pics and cool video there but can't find anything on youtube to link with.

The event is very good. Organisation is miles better than the French, all very well sorted and everyone's helpful if something's not. Typical US. Driver feedback is very positive, they get more track time than LM and driving standards are more friendly. In my opinion worth coming over.

As expected entry is very much Porsch-biased. Unfortunately a lot of fake cars. Not many BMWs here. Think the only original one is the Hughes #997 CSL.

Regards from a warm and sunny Florida

Knew we could rely on you Nick! Nice report from Alex & good of you to let Boris have your seat

Great set of images and plenty of Porsche, well worth a look.

Something for next year eh?
