Rear view mirror reglass

Post by hughes73 »

Hi All

I would like to replace the mirror in my rear view mirror. Has anyone done that? Is it a specialist job or can I go to the local mirror shop?

Also is there a trick to taking it apart as there seems no way in??!

Thanks

Hi Andrew,

This is a later style 911 mirror on Ebay

The metal base that bonds to the screen can be obtained from a main dealer.

Thanks Chris. I have a nice condition complete unit with poor quality mirror so do you reckon it's easier to combine the two of them rather than get new reflective glass?

I do not think you can dismantle them to change over mirror - perhaps someone on here knows different!
