Nuts & Bolts

Post by tanick »

Rebuilding Suspension. Got lots of rusty bolts. PET tells me what they are -e.g. the two holding the brake calipers on each corner are M12x30x1.5. Easy to get. Except I don't need 100 of them. Does anyone know a place you can get small quantities of bolts and other fasteners at a reasonable price? I could get them from Porsche but I'm guessing they aren't that competitive on price.

Try this place in Camberley. I've recommended them to DDKers before, and have bought parts there numerous times.

They sell individual nuts, bolts, springs, rivets, .... in ZP, stainless, HT, ...

Make sure you buy high tensile fasteners for suspension and brake components!

I got my bolts etc from Namrick in Hove http://www.namrick.co.uk

However, I'm having trouble getting hold of the correct washers. They are spring washers but very thin and not split. I've been around a few places and no-one has them. Do they have a special name?

I'm thinking of the type that are on the bolts that hold the brake calipers on etc.

THay are called wave washers.

I hate them almost as much as I hate split spring washers..I use either no washers or, on ali etc, plain washers..with loktite..

Kind regards
David
