Getting underneath

Post by crafti »

Hi all,

Sadly I do not have a car lift, or a pit. Can you guys recommend best ways to get underneath a 911, i.e. suitable ramps etc. (& where to get them?)

Or, realistically priced and suitable vehicle lift / scissor lift etc.)

Cheers

I bought a roll frame (two hoop like structures which attach to the wheel nuts). Means you can roll the whole car through 90 degrees and work on things in relative comfort.

Not as good as a lift but well worth buying if you are starting a resoration because you will be able to recover much of the cost by selling it again on e-Bay!

I use trolley jacks and large axle stands from www.machinemart.co.uk (I haven't found ramps suitable for the 911). They also have small vehicle lifts: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product_10 ... /index.asp
