ID Plates

Post by lewis »

How do I fix the ID plate to the door jamb? I know it was riveted before it was taken off for the respray but I can't figure out how to rivet it back on so that it at least looks somethig like original.

I keep meaning to put mine back on. The closest thing I can think of to match the originel rivets, is model engineering copper rivets: I'm sure I've got some somewhere. I was just going to stick these through the original holes, and fix the plate and 'rivets' with epoxy.

If you can measure the original size of the rivets, I'll see what I've got: if my ones are correct you're welcome to what you need (4 I think?).

P.S. I case you're wondering, I bought them so I could add rivet detail to a 3 1/2in scale GWR County loco that I'm (quietly) working on
