I had to get my daughter from Cricklade to Cheltenham for 7 o'clock this morning. On the way back I took in a short stretch of the A436 from Seven Springs to the Air Balloon, part of a route I often drive. It's only a short stretch of road of about 3½ miles but it twists and turns, rises and dips and has recently been resurfaced, it's a joy to drive….
….it had me itching to drive it again in a proper car!
Straight back home I took the E out of the garage and headed back, this time taking the A435 old Cheltenham road, another fantastic stretch of tarmac if you can catch it early without any traffic….
What a glorious morning; although a little slick, the road was clear and with the sun waking, the light streamed through the semi-naked trees slowly holding on to their beautiful autumnal colours showing the mist gently rising from the frozen meadows beyond……with JTP's beautifully recovered 380mm wheel dancing in my hands and the flat six screaming out the soundtrack, the sight, sound and feel was a surreal experience…wish I could have recorded it!
Also found out I have a little light on my temp gauge that warns of icy roads, cool...
When I reached Seven Springs I went back and forth a few times to the Air Balloon, it's funny, earlier in the BMW I marvelled at how good a stretch of road this is, I didn't notice the car. Now in the 911 the road became nothing more than a fine canvas to grace the work of art that glided above it

…..these early cars are immense. I enjoyed myself for a good while until the traffic built up and had me heading for home….
The E is such a pretty car it loves posing for the camera, these being taking on my new iPhone (sorry Rich), quite impressed...
I feel I must have been a very good person in a previous life to be so blessed in this one…..guess I'd better get doing a bit more good in this one to keep the run going!
Oh Happy Days
