Funny enough it was a beautiful bright and sunny day here in Glasgow, but just 60 mins after I rolled the car out, black clouds appeared followed by a wee burst of rain......Maybe I should have got it finished BEFORE the summer :)

Thats me reliving my yoof when me and the wife both had 2cv's, did thousands of miles all over UK and France.........After years of driving diesels, foot to the floor in every gear takes a lot of getting used to :)

OK, car was running like a dog early this morning, difficult starting, wouldn't idle etc. but no time to look at it.....Unfortunately, today was also the first sight of the gritters up here and the temp this morning was 1.5....not great open top motoring weather !

MOT was going great till the headlight check........crappy chinese latching relay wasn't (latching) so as well as gassing out the garage guys with my over rich mixture, I got a fail on the dim/dip headlight function....

Its an old school garage so the guys know what to expect with my old junk :)

Drove home, searched high and low for the genuine VW relay I knew I had somewhere, some samba maneuvers under the dash and the relay was replaced, quick tweak of the carb gave much better running and a steady idle.

BAck down, quick test and adjust of the headlight aim and I now have 12months ticket :) !!
Happy days !

Well done Ger, dont let the weather spoil things, just need a good thick jacket and a Woolley hat. :-)
