Next project

Post by ims101 »

Well now that I have sorted most of the things I wanted and needed to sort I am going to get the petrol tank made biger. Then I'll be able to drive further between petrol stops

I am going to put the filler thru the bonnet (or hood if you are American) as you can see from the photo above. But thats as far as I've got at the moment :(

You've got a good starting point with the tank you're using at the moment - shouldn't be too hard to extend the next to exit through the bonnet?

Is it just me, or does that look like a very nice filler cap ?

Already drilled my bonnet for the location l wanted, now to make the tank fit the filler. When l get 5 minutes going to make a wooden buck to form it around.

Are you wanting to keep the spare wheel or not?
I'm doing mine from steel utilising the bottom of the Vw tank and making my own enlarged top half to incorporate the new filler location.

Thanks guys, yes like Rich I'll use the tank I've got at the moment and have it altered in some way to both get more capacity into it and so it fits the space better with the new filler to come thru the bonnet. The filler and cap were from here: http://www.peter-iversen.com/en/webshop ... 0000151762 it is a very nice bit of kit
