Very interesting.
Did Bob get on well with mapping the Megasquirt as I'm on the same track as you but a few laps behind!
Please keep the reports coming.
Graham.

Hi Northy,
No, I'd not considered Wayne. Tim was configuring Megasquirt (my engine management system), not Bob, and I 'm not aware of any rolling roads that understand and can configure this management system themselves.
I'd had a glass of wine when I posted last night and IIRC the 170bhp was without an airfilter, it was at 165bhp with it when running rough so its only a 10bhp loss, not 15. This means that without a filter now, I'm probably around 160bhp.
Cheers
James

looks good James. Ignoring the power numbers, how does it drive, mid range / from low revs / overtaking etc

I've only ever heard good things about Wayne's work. Apparently a nightmare to get hold of and a character, but he always seems to deliver. A few of the guys on impact bumpers have used him for tuning aftermarket efi'd cars and all seemed very happy with the results.TheEasyLife wrote:Hi Northy,

Might be worth asking the questions?

James,
It is very very drivable. We have lots of low end and mid range power which is what you'd expect from an E. Ideal for leaving white vans on A roads and enough to overtake at naughty speeds on the M1 on the way home. Allegedly
. Tim has driven mine before and after Bobs and it is close to his in performance terms but his has the edge in top end grunt and noise due to his ITB's.
Northy,
I have read good reports about him on IB but I just don't have the time. My original plan was to be where I am now a year ago but my priorities changed with the birth of my daughter. She takes priority over the car. I'm sure that I could get more bhp for the sake of a different airfilter and connector to my CIS TB but the plan is to change it in a year anyway so I don't see the need to change it now when it drives so well and the time and cost of another session at Bobs would be 2 to 3 times the cost of a new filter and tube so its not VFM in my mind. Circa £200 and a days effort to get 5 bhp? Not worth it in my mind on a road car that is not used that much. Yes, higher numbers are desirable but I'll have more time hopefully in a years time to chase much higher bhp with ITB's.
Cheers
