My speedsters!
I built two in the same style because I had two colour schemes in my head and couldn't decide which one to do !
The blue car has a 1641cc engine with a lightened flywheel and a large carb. The mustard car is a standard 1600 cc engine.
To get the paint effect I painted the car as normal and then sprayed on the lettering. I then rubbed through areas with wet and dry. I used red oxide and a grey primer to age the car.

That my car looks pretty scruffy anyway - if I make it a 'feature' then I won't have to worry about it deteriorating. I love the look, but need to suss out what would make it work on my car. Just a thought at the moment

Do your welding repairs, then rattle can red oxy primer, then top coat with silver and wet and dry back through the silver top coat once it's all gone hard.
A worn paint/patina looks cool, rust however isn't cool. Do a proper job first then add the ageing.
I think it only works if you do the whole rather than the part, Rob's cars have the balance just right.
