Came across this site in-between changing nappies and making bottles.

You have to email the guy with your details to become a member and your up and running. Similar layout to speedsterowners.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This past week we were away for a short vacation. When we returned, 5 days later, I found that the “membership” to this site had just about doubled and all of those new “members” were “Spam Members”. In other words, entities (many of them “bots”) requesting membership for the purpose of selling something or posting porn to the site. That comes out to just under 450 new “members” (which I would normally spend time deleting each day).
In that same period, the site had only two new posts, both from the same member. In fact, many weeks go by without any new posts while, at the same time, it still gets 50-100 new “member” requests every day, and I have to delete those new “members”, one-by-one, every day to stay ahead of them. 450 in five days just shows what happens when I'm away - I have to spend 2-3 HOURS, sitting at the laptop, deleting them. It’s not fun and I can think of many things I would rather be doing, like working on my car.
I have been fighting this battle since the site started, over five years ago, and it never stops. Sometimes it slows for a while, but it never stops. I’ve used the only tool with the site software available to me, which is to ban ranges of IP addresses, but Asia (China) and East Europe (Russia and it’s satellites) are the biggest offenders and there are hundreds of basic IP ranges assigned there, and if you block them the source might just go to another basic address so you can’t win. I'm already blocking over 200 IP addresses and they keep coming. I spend hours, weekly, cleaning the site up to the point where I don’t even want to get on the computer any more, not even for news, let alone on a bulletin board site like Speedstershop or SOC, and then I see that there have only been four posts for the week. It gets a little disheartening after a while.
So I guess I’ve finally decided, after a lot of thought (and four hours of cleanup ahead of me with more adding each day), to close this site down.
If I can figure out how, I’ll leave it up for two weeks to allow people to download threads of interest to them so they are not lost. After all, there is a LOT of terrific information on here that can be a great help to people in the future, but to leave it up will simply add 500 new “members” each and every week, even if they are not activated.
Sorry to have to do this, but the numbers don’t lie - very little traffic and over two hours of maintenance each week on my part. I could be doing so much more with my time......
Thanks for coming to the Speedstershop. It’s been a good, reliable and fun site and I think we all helped each other out when it was needed.

You guys are 5 years late...
speedstershop.com dates back to a bit of a falling out over on SoC back in summer 2005, when it was created and the original invite list sent out.
www.speedsterowners.com is still worth a visit too, even if only for this years calendar
