Speedster battery compartment behind rear seat

This is a rather embarrassing question...

On Sunday I decided to give the Speedster a run seeing as it was lovely clear day (but cold). Despite having an isolation switch, the battery has gone dead (hasn't had a proper run for too long).

Now, I know the battery is in a compartment behind the rear seat panel. Question is: how do i get at it? I have tried lifting and (gently) pulling the panel but it doesn't appear to just clip on and I didn't want to force it. I presume somewhere there is a release. Does anyone know where this is likely to be?!

Tom not familiar with the Dax but most manufactures either screw the rear panel or use Velcro, not come across one with a release cable. Otherwise try lifting the panel up and out. May help with a picture...

Yup I tried lifting up and out - it slides up perhaps an inch but it still felt like it was locked into some form of mechanism. Will try taking a picture but I am not sure it will be particularly instructive!

The Chesil one just pings out; its slightly wider than the gap and is held in place behind the adjacent panels by the slight overlap. The dax may be the same.... ?

When u do get it open ,an idea what Ive done is made leads from batterys that go to the back somewhere behind the wheels with an anderson type plug ,so the trickle charger can be pluged in & then make some jump leads with a anderson type plug on aswell .Its so much easier than keep removing back seats & pannels

Hmm no, sadly there is definitely some form of catch. I may just have to force it and re-attach in a different way.
