Red California, OTY 831F info needed anyone know this car!!?
Hello All,
I am a new member on here and wanted anyones input and information on the car i own.
OTY 831F (Hotty)
http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2514444 ... 9858zQhxpI
Apparantly built in 2001 from a 'Legend' California kit. It has a 1.8 aircooled engine from a T2 bus and a whole list of vw and porsche performance parts. It is astonishingly quick to 40/50mph. The guy who built it now lives in Australia!
I would love to meet any of its previous owners and get more information on it and myabe even pick up the issue of TOTAL VW Magazine it was featured in at the time.
The covers come off the car next month when i have the time to carry out its annual service and MOT. Can Not Wait!!!!
Thanks

I'd like to see scans of the feature ..... even if it's just to reassure me my memory isn't going
. So, was the then owner based in North Yorkshire with photos of the car at Ellerton Lakes ?

Yes!! Great memory. It shows it before the proper interior went in and backs up all my guesses about the previous use, features and whereabouts! All that's left now is to get it going again and get it back to former glory!
I will see if I can get the scanner working and post it here. Apparently the new editors of the speedster.com magazine are interested in doing an article on it too and has been forwarded to hopefully feature in the Haynes guide to kitcars which is being put together this year.
