I may well look at the other shows which seem a lot bigger the problem is up here in Glasgow there are not many owners and this type of show to attend .Cheers

Truthfully, unless there is a specifically organised turn out of 356 rep' DDK'ers with their cars from here or the guys from speedsters.com, I would not go all that way unless you really have nothing better to do or really wanna go for the sake of going - OR of course need parts that you cant get any other way. It's not for me to put you off going and I feel bad even saying it.
It's not really a "show" per se. Yes there is an area of a few show cars and lots of variety of cars in the car parks but really it's a huge v-dub car-parts jumble sale and lots of v-dub traders etc..
It would be a long way to come and it is very vw orientated but there is a lot of nice cars that pop up in the car park!! If you were after any parts for your car then you'd be hard pushed not to find them here as as del says there are normally a lot of traders selling everything you can think of inside the main hall. In my honest opinion i wouldnt travel all that way either and would make an effort to go to standford hall or tatton park too, but as its only 15 mins from where i live i tend to turn up!!
It would be nice to meet a few of the members we speak to on here in person and for me selfishly i want to check out some nice speedsters!!! and as there seem to be a few owners popping up around the midlands area it would be an ideal place to meet up.
I've been to Stoneleigh for the last two years its a kit car show so loads of Cobras and Lotus 7 types. The Speedsters owners club have a pitch and get about 10 or so cars there (that's on the Bank Holiday Monday) it's worth a visit but it depends of what takes your fancy. I was going, may still go to Dubfreeze as its only about 50 miles each way for my from Notts. The main reason for turning up there was the amount of DDker's that said they were going to go too! So if there is 6-10 Speedsters/Porsche's there I was gonna go have a meet up chat wander round the auto jumble (my wife loves that bit ) have a cuppa and a bacon sarni and drive home.
But saying all that if I lived in Scotland I don't think I'd bother (if you do come Brian I'll buy you a cuppa and a sarni too)

Thanks for all the advice but I think I will possibly wait and come down to one of the bigger shows where there may be more speedsters to see .
I do not know how waterproof your cars are I got caught out in a thunderstorm coming back from one show last year and watched in horror the water pouring in through the door seals these have been repositioned and seem to have worked but still get some water in from the back wheel arch area some thing I will have to sort out ,so the thought of driving hundreds of miles in the rain puts me off some what .
I have to be honest I am not mechanical minded that is why I bought my car as a finished turnkey car I really admire you guys that are building ones from scratch, and there is nothing I would need to buy from the auto jumble stands so trawling round them would be a waste of time .
One thing I would like is a gear stick gaiter in red any advice on where to go for one i think mine is the Empi Hurst shifter style the one you pull the ring up to go into reverse If i knew how to post pics on here i would do so
