Newbie with a 911sc Chesil Speedster

Hi All,

I am a DDk newbie but I have owned my car for 2 years now. The car is a Midnight Blue Chesil Speedster with a Porsche 911sc 3L engine and 915 gearbox. I have just had the engine and gearbox overhauled this year, infact I'm dew to get the car back from the garage at the end of this week. I can't wait to get back in it and give it a spin, well not literally I did that 6 months after buying it (but that's another story lol).
I look forward to going to some events, track days and other meetings over the next year so hopefully I meet up with some of you then.

I'll post some photos up when I get it back, fingers crossed at the end of this week/early next week I'll take some new ones and some of its new sparkly engine!

Heck...I bet that's quick!

Must be about 800kg with 200bhp + if it's a late SC engine

it's the 1979 180bhp but you are right it is quick and I'm hopping that after the engine rebuild, as the garage keep saying, I'll notice the difference ':lol:'

In a straight line it's amazing but you have to slow round the bends as the suspension at the front end hasn't been up graded, so its VW Beetle! The rear end is all from the 911sc so that the next project!

Hi welcome to DDK.

i'm in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. i'm thinking it's about time DDK had another east midlands meeting.

That sounds a good idea shame the weather is on the turn now.
Over the summer (March-September) on the second and third Wednesday of the month, there has been a classic car meeting at the Griffins Head at Papplewick Nottingham between J26 & J27 M1 (it's the last one tonight but rain spoils play!) but there are loads of good locations through out the East Mid's also a bit of a drive to blow off the cob web is always fun!

yes went along to the griffin meet in July nice venue with good food

You could go for one of those Red 9 design ones, they look awesome.
