Hi Gary

I took the cage out of a 1980 SC , and to be honest , it fitted the SWB shell with no problems. The only alteration I had to make was to the mounting plates on the front legs , in order to miss the heater outlets in the sills.

Well , I can safely say the car is now 99% finished , having (by the skin of it's teeth ! ) been MOTed , Registered and taxed a week before departure for CLM 8)

I was never really happy with the twin plug set up on the donor engine (second dizzy driven off the back of the cam) , so Francis Tuthill sorted me out with a conversion to my SC dizzy , and I havbe to say the engine runs MUCH better with this set up - and looks more period too .

So - engine lid on

Refit under the bonnet.....

And off to the Classic

We extended the trip for an extra couple of weeks down in the Loire and Normandy , completing 1300 pretty trouble - free miles. Only issues were one brake light bulb , and seriously unbalanced front wheels (sorted in the 2nd week)
All in all a good result , and an excellent trip!!!
