I always had in the back of my mind that given the car had remedial work (and not a total restoration) done a good few years ago (6 now) prior to a respray that it may need some structural work.

Glad to see you're on the home straight and should be enjoying it soon.

Okay so final udate - the work is now finished. Collected the car from Neil Bainbridge at BS Motorsport a couple of weeks ago and put 500 miles on it as a shake down. Returned her to Neil and picked it up yesterday - main 'snagging' item was to get the carbs correctly jetted - this was done with Bob Watson and his dyno's help.

So a summary (work sheet stretched to 6 sides of A4) of the work undertaken by Neil - not including the structural work mentioned earlier in the thread; install 3.2 engine and gearbox, remove and refit carbs and free off shafts (band new carbs but shafts had seized - the car had been stored outside at previous workshop), replace oil scavange line, remove and refit with support sill oil lines, check and replace all flexibile fuel lines at rear, fit new oil tank and engine breathers, make up and wire engine loom, fit new period gauges, fit new selector coupler and shifter, fit new silencer mounting brackets, replace ball joints, replace strut pins, replace sterring track rods with turbo type, replace all flexible brake lines, fit new Bilstein dampers to rear, new wiring for all front and rear lights, replace front wheel bearings, strip and rebulid pedal assembly, replace master cylinder...this has been subsequently changed for a larger unit to improve feel

The good news is I'm delighted with the finished car, pulls brilliantly, is great fun to drive and sounds awesome to match!

The results of the dyno below - pleased to report the engine is poviding 255 bhp - certainly makes her a bit lively and I think will take me a while to get my driving skills up to speed as it were!

So the plan now is to enjoy the car and run some miles up prior to CLM trip

Goodwood FoS on Friday is he first event!

Thanks to Neil and everyone else who hs helped with parts/advice/shoulder to cry on...it has been worth it!

Is that a stock 3.2 with 46mm PMO's?
What headers are you using please?

Did Bob have any issues with the carbs at all?

I have a similar combination in my racer and they need a tweek, hence the questions.

Graham - yes a stock 3.2 with PMOs

It's got SSIs on it and I don't think so other than trying a range of jetting options - Neil seems to think there's a bit more that could be squeezed out of it. I wasn't with the car at Bob's

She does James - no idea TBH but fairly light I guess, most gubbins stripped out and fibreglass wings. Might pop it into a weighbridge out of curiousity

Yes, it's a fabulous looking package, the engine bay without the clutter of the EFI system just looks so much better (but then I would say that I suppose

)

Have to say that I had a drive of this car the other day and after the massive disappointment that Viv must have had when he discovered the real condition of the car he had been sold,
it has now been transformed into a fantastically fun car! Feels really quick and pulls like a train with a really smooth power delivery thanks to those PMO's being set up properly.

Now to enjoy it, although having to hang back every now and again to wait for the others heading to CLM to catch up will be a pain
