Radio Connector

Post by Mr Pharmacist »

Hello,

I want to get a DIN connector to plug my ipod into my Blaupunkt radio in my 912.

A website in Germany called Konigs Klassic Radio used to do them, but they have stopped selling them.

Does anyone know where else to get them from, or how they can be made?

Thanks
Stuart

I don't know the pinout, but I'm sure someone else will.

Hi Stuart

Are you sure they have stopped doing them as they still list it on their site.

I bought one of these from them a little while ago - it does work pretty well.

I am pretty sure someone could easily make one up - try MB Radio in leeds or maplin maybe.

Failing that then i am sure you could pick one up from the US, try posting on the 912 bbs and i'm sure someone will point you in the right direction.

Hi Darran,

When you click on the connector on their website it goes to a page that says item removed (or at least I think that's what it says - its in german!).

I've just emailed them to see if they are going to be back in stock.

Failing that I'll try your other suggestions!

Thanks
Stuart

Hi Tim,

its a 6 pin DIN connector to a female headphone jack that's required. Not sure how to wire one of those up! Here's a pic of the connector that is no longer available:

Although not listed on their shop they do still have them. I bought one a few months ago after emailing them.

I made one from a pinout I found on the web for my Becker GP. Unfortunately it made my ipod fizz and smell bad. There was also some smoke as I remember. The ipod didn't work any more. Obviously didn't like 12v in its jack. So, I don't trust website pinouts any more( note to self - check the voltages across the pins before plugging it in).

Fortunately the ipod was still under warranty

If anyone's bought the Konig one it would be easy to work out the connections...

Hi Tim,

Did you manage to look at making some of these connectors?
