I have been looking at the forum for some time now generally annoying people with stupid questions (we all have to start somewhere). I purchased my 68 912 last October (my first classic car) having followed all the good advise on enthusiast sites such as this one, always get a PPI, always buy at the top of your budget and so on. After 6 months of looking I found this very straight and unmolested car. Had it checked out and bought it.

I’ve had a few hiccups between then and now that I won’t bore you with but it has just sailed through its MOT and I’m having a great time driving and tampering. Lots of little cosmetic things to do but I think that’s half the fun.

Thought it was about time I showed her off.

is i just me or does it look a tad higher on the driver side than it is on the passanger side

The ride heights are adjustable, and therefore on the downside, can be adjusted incorrectly. If they are out side-to-side, this throws the balance of the car out, know as 'corner weights'.

On the other hand, it is also possible to have the car a little lower than original, if you fancy a slightly sleeker look. Somewhere there will be official ride-height figures, which (I think) are taken from the centre-top of each wheel arch to the ground.

I think you'll find that many cars on this forum are running slightly lower than factory-original.

Still, certainly don't worry about it: to get it pretty much right can be a DIY job if you're a bit handy, and it's much more important to have bought a good car in the first place, which you obviously have!

depends on your skills but it's easy on the front and alittle skill for the rear but it's best to get it checked out afterwards

checked out the ride height and it was high.
Front drivers side 27in passenger side 26.5in
rear drivers side 26in passenger side 25,5in

Adjusted the front to 26in and left rear as is.

I would like to bring it down by about another inch but its at the bottom of the adjustment now so I think this would mean some taking apart. Not ready to do that just yet.
