I imported this car myself from Kansas where it was alegedley still being used every weekend, with the intention of using it as a daily and a doing a sympathetic rolling resto as and when needed and funds were available.
Although it was running when it arrived the bodywork seemed to have deteriorated in appearance somewhat from the photos i had been sent
A new master cylinder was installed prior to driving it to the MOT station , more in hope than expectation , where it failed its MOT miserabley on serious rust issues .
It has been sat at the back of a mates workshop ever since where he keeps promising to attack it with an angle grinder , new metal and a welding torch sometime soon .
This hasn't happened in two years and as he is now going through a divorce and likely to have to move out and lose his workshop so storage is likely to become an issue , added to the fact that i have just bought a nice shiney everything done 1970 T Targa, i've come to the conclusion that it is time to part with my yet to be started project car .
This car needs some serious welding / bodywork so unless you actually enjoy lying on your back being burned by bits of moulten shrapnel then this is NOT the car for you !
Alternatively you may want it for a parts car or just to break it and sell it on .
I paid over £4k for the car ( stop laughing ! ) and about another £1k to import it . I'm not suggesting the car is necessarily worth £5k , but it would be nice to see a reasonable proportion of my money back .
The car is located just south of Birmingham ,within sight of M42 j2,
if anyone is brave enough to come and look it over.
Realistically i'm never going to do anything with this car and may soon lose the current free storage so i now just need to cut my losses .
