Re: LSD suggestions for 915 gearbox
...With the LSD installed I have more rear grip through the corners (it must have been slipping before but I was unaware)... Don't believe you. :) ...This in turn meant it under steered more but I corrected that by stiffening the rear anti-roll bar. Now when the rear does let go it's controllable a...

I guess this isn't the sort of thing you were thinking of, although it has been left untouched and has individual character :- )

Re: Would you give this person a test driver's seat in f1?
Maybe they don't need their test driver to be a future champion and maybe she is doing perfectly well enough in that role ?

Re: house build for 911s
Definately sell to fund the build. Imagine if the classic 911 market halved during the build. How would that work out?

Re: 66 chassis number search
Mike. If you are able to source a Kardex I can provide you with one on the UK chassis numbers. Just PM me.
I have also put a note in the next Porsche Post to see if there is any one out there with a UK chassis number car. You never know.

Re: Number roundels dilemma
Yes, numbers have to be full removed/masked before a car is driven on the road. It's an MSA regulation, not Highway code. Which I believe results in the situation that you can drive a car with numbers on the road if you do not have an MSA licence but if you do have one you cannot ! I think hills an...

Re: Number roundels dilemma
The blue book says: 4.1.7. Any means of identifying individual cars during a competition MUST be removed at the finish of the event. So I've taken that to mean that they have to be fully taken off (or hidden under a temporary covering - magnetic white rectangle for example) - a cross through isnt s...

Re: Number roundels dilemma
And if you do have numbers permanently fitted is it still the rule you must fit a black diagonal cross over each number to drive it on a public road?

Re: 66 chassis number search
Mike, this might be of interest to you. I have 6 RHD AFN cars between chassis number 30381* (made Feb 66) and 30417* (made April 66) that are marked as '911 Deluxe Coupe'. All the other 1966 cars are marked '911 Coupe' and then from 67 model they are marked '911 Normal Coupe'. 2 of the cars were mad...

Re: 66 chassis number search
There were no AFN cars in that range Mike so you could be right that none were made in RHD. Last AFN 66 car was 30462* and was built in April and picked up from the factory in Stuttgart. The first AFN 'Normal' car was 30541* (well known car GVB 911D) and was built in August.

I have a Fobco Star which was my grandfather's. I concur with the write up in the link about the quality and how solidly built they are. It must have done 30+ years of service between us and has always been reliable.
