thanks guys for your help......tonight im attacking it with a multi-meter and a screw driver....... im going to take out the interior, and trace the melted wire back as far as it is damaged.....does anyone know what side it runs...??? and what panels/ order to take them out...??? replace wire... rep...

yeh car was running at time.....cringe...!!!!!! were is the fuse for the alt to batt wire...i have checked the ones on the fuse box and they are all ok.......the wire at the batt end is ok....but i cant get continuity on any wire, I put a multi-meter between the batt end and alt and there was nothin...

thanks....for the oil info...... its currently got a bad oil leak from the crankshaft oil seal...which im having done while im on honeymoon (about 3 weeks time)...so there is always new oil in it....lol....where can i get a oil filter from..? and is it a big/expensive job to do the valve guides...??...

My car puffs out blue smoke on a trailing throttle.... on start up...its fine...and under load....and hard acceleration.....no smoke.....well maybe a tiny bit....but its 29 years old...so i will forgive that bit... its only when i lift off and ha...

My tacho dont work...it did work but it jumped around....maybe lose connection...is there anywhere i can get a wireing plan for the Car/Tacho..also now when i hit the main beam....the dash light for the tacho goes out...?? bad earth...???
