porsche & 911 hickstead picnic

Here's just a few pictures from the 911 and porsche world magazine picnic at hickstead. Lovely weather and a nice little meet, hopefully it will be better next year with a few more trade stands and more than one stall in the autojumble. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v99/hashman/hickstead02...

I went to this ,had a great day. Spoke to the owner of this car and even he wasn't too sure about the wheels, think he was marked down for it in the concours. He has purchased an early bent screen car also. Another proper enthusiast.

Just to confuse matters,
I bought new doors for my 71 911 and wished i had re-skinned the original doors as the door gaps were never as good with the new doors.
But i fitted them myself, and if you have the work done by a body shop, this might not be a problem.
Just an additional thought.

Apologies, no new photos, but i have ordered new repair panels ie floors longitudinals door botoms and so on. Unfortunately the nickies 1900cc engine option became too expensive. I shall have to get a job to save for that. Currently the paintwork is removing itself..... http://img.photobucket...

I remember reading some where that the advance springs in the distributor can have an effect on the idle. Getting new ones or adjusting the points on which they mount to so the springs are not so weak.
Just something to think about or investigate.

I feel for Gary71 and Rose, as i almost had a terrible day when I went to the Brands Hatch festival. Started off with a flat battery, no probs, a quick jump with the (lifesaving) starter pack. Stopped for petrol no hassle but cash machine and air compressor not working, still no big deal. Car starte...

Thanks for the great pics Nick. I missed it this year but i did see a white 356 and a GT40 on my way down to the euro tunnel. I was in France for the weekend but supporting my brother who won 5 out of 6 races and a 2nd place on his Aprillia Mille V twin jobby motorbike. Sorry, just had to mention th...
