Hello from Cheshire noob

Post by ross.mcw »

Hi all,

I've already posted a couple of times elsewhere but figured I should stop by here and say hello.

I'm a complete 911 newbie but this forum's been really great for info with excellent advice already from other members.

I actually own an Ariel Atom at the moment and administer the owner's club forum but haven't really had much use for the last year so figured I'd have a change. For those that are interested, here it is:-

http://forum.atomclub.com/index.php/topic,5562.0.html

Always fancied a 911 and am now on the lookout for a 1972 T or E so expect me to be asking lots of daft questions!

Cheers, Ross.

You keep that Atom really nice :)

Normally we would say that changing to an early Porsche is a bit hardcore compared to what you are used to.. but even a lightweight RS will feel like a S Class after this :)

Whereabouts in Cheshire are you? I'm just outside Crewe. You'd be welcome to have look at my '72 T so I can show you what not to buy :)

Yeah, I can't say I'm looking out for a 911 because I'm after more speed that's for sure. ;)

I'm in Knutsford and would love to see your 911 (I've never even sat in one yet I'm sad to say).

Will have to wait for some fair weather though...too much work to clean the damn thing otherwise! But if I see a break in the clouds I'll drop you a line and will pop over.

Cheers, Ross.

An Atom .. very nice 8)

They look like a huge amount of fun :) . For some reason I have an urge to get one & take it on a huge European road trip , although I'm sure rose tinted glasses make that seem like a better idea than it is

I had a go in a blower Bentley yesterday in the sheeting rain, so I'm feeling the hardcore motoring, but from a slightly different angle 8)

We'll have to find the time when we both registered! We're now part of an odd subset of DDK, the Atom owners club section!

Any pospective 911s seen by you so far?

Just sent my membership fee! Application form in the post today.

This forum and it's members have been a massive help in helping me find my 1972 911T so the membership fee is well worth it. Thankyou!

Cheers, Ross.
