I have a 72 /4
Any one know what wheels for from the other cars within the marque?
Ive seen some nice 3 & 4 spoke ones I like but dont know what fits, I have a feeling they will have to be from the same year but who knows. anyone got anything fitted like this?
924/944 wheels maybe, being more from the VW/Audi stable.
I doubt that some will be a straight forward bolt on but I dont mind modifying things to get the one I like

Does your '14 have the wipers on a stalk on the column or a switch on the dash?

I fitted the 3 spoke wheel to my 914 by grinding off the aluminium rivets taking off the crush safety bit & swapping it for one I'd removed from a 4 spoke 70s Beetle steering wheel then use bolts instead of the ali rivets.

Thanks Martin. Thats what I was thinking, make it fit.
I have a old 911 wheel which fits the splines & I can butcher that to adapt to one of the newer ones I might aquire.

I have a 4spoke from a 911 (944 splines will not fit) but the boss gives it an odd rake. As mentioned above best way is to fit an after market boss -Obviously this is a major control so don't bodge/weld etc.

The VW boss works well & doesn't have an odd rake. Plus nobody wants 4 spoke 70s bug steering wheels so they are dirt cheap.

What do you guys mean by the rake?
If its what I think then it wouldnt be turning in a circle, which cant be right.

Rake is the reach -I found the the 911 wheel a bit too close -fine if you have stumpy arms -or maybe my arms are like those of a primate

LOL
That make sense to me now, I was thinking at a an angle other than perpendicular to the column.
