Fitting rear window seal question.

Good morning learned members,

This morning I was just about to order a new rear window seal for my 1970 coupe with my local Porsche centre, when the gent I was talking with pointed out a note that stated " may require some modification". I asked him if he could explain further and he then said possibly might have to cut the seal!
I've never heard of this before and thought I'd reach out to you ever helpful chaps here.

Has anyone recently fitted a Porsche supplied rear screen seal and found it necessary to "modify" on fitment?

Also, if anyone has fitted an OEM seal that's fitted nicely, I'm equally happy to hear of your supply source / experience.

Thanks for your help.
Loz

On my targa, the fitter had to make a hole to pass the heated rear window cables.

Hello Loz, there is a good video on you tube showing a guy fitting the rear screen he makes holes in the seal. Have a look. He’s working on a 74 blue coupe :)
