Good info but much the same as the UK?
30 mph over the given limit and a risk of a ban and more.

In France, motorway toll road, 80 mph in the dry + 30 = more than the UK.

Just not worth it in France where many cameras are hidden.

Eh,france is now prison for 50k over, car confiscated and huge fines.
I got pulled by austrian police at 80km over last year, thank goodness they only fined me 80€ :)

We were all over France last year in mid September, and the cameras were everywhere, esp the 30Km/h village centers.

Biggest danger were the locals blasting around keen to overtake the dawdling Brits in the Porsche...

I think the toll autoroute (we use a lot) are all average speed monitored so 80 mph on a dry day.

We don't mind any more, just sit back and enjoy the ride.

It’s one of the reason France doesn’t feature in our euro tours anymore … their financial loss , even though I love the place

I wouldn’t write it off too quickly James. There are so many roads they can’t cover all of them. So many great cross-country routes with hardly any coverage from what I have seen.

Yes, that is true, but as we use the toll roads to cut the distanced as we move around we do not see too many open stretches.
There is a big absence of Gendarme (sp), none of the small gaggles of them on road junctions and such like, cost cutting, but I feel replaced by the grey hidden cameras.

I love driving in France as a country with lots to give on a tour but the vintage blatts to Le Mans are quickly becoming folk law.
