SUNDAY 20TH NOVEMBER - ELVINGTON

No excuses this time, I'm giving you plenty of notice

DDK ONLY trackday at Elvington. The day will be run by the same organises holding the Cadwell trackday, BUT this time it will be DDK ONLY.

Elvington has a fully laid out circuit and has huge run off areas so you can push your car to 110 % Laughing

This will be a superb social day out with fellow DDK'ers and should be a real laugh.

Cost should be less than £130 each ( depnds on numbers ) The more of us there are the cheap it becomes Smile

Lets finsh DDK's 2005 with a high

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to James (hott66), Philip (pmjt) et. al. for putting the effort in to pull this together - I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever had that much fun before with my clothes on . Elvington should be on everybodys radar for a safe track day .

It was also great to get out in a few cars other than my own - indeed it's really a 'thank you' to everyone who took part for making it such a fantastic day.

Whilst I had my camera with me, it never made it out of the bag so it will be down to others to post up their pictures.

Bummer of the day definitely goes to Mike Usiskin who drove all the way up from London only to have his alternator bearing fail and seize his cooling fan, thereby making it impossible to take part. Bad luck buddy - I really do feel for you .

Well done James (hot66) and Phillip (pmjt). Thoroughly enjoyed the day out with a good few laps of Elvington thrown in.
Highlight for me was the handful of laps in the track car. Exhileration is an understatment!
Great mix of cars and good mix of clubs - DDK and PCGB can co-exist.

Much against my better judgment I might be tempted again.

Radical - Quick, stops on a button, turns in great, but sorry, I still don't quite get it ! The Porsche will do more or less the same, and then you drive home, take the kids to school or whatever ! Great ride anyway though

And Tim, I think you should have left Queen playing as we lapped sideways - that was a hoot (as was the Cup car, Nigel's spirited cornering ability and Darren's '14).

A thoroughly excellent day out, HUGE thanks to James for the sterling job he did setting it all up. It was well worth the slog up from London, and if any of you who were considering going to this but didnt, then you really missed out, the most fun I've ever had.

Spin of the day has to go to Mr Donkin, executed with absolute style & grace Ian , looked great from a spectators point of view. Only the one spin for me but at least I now know where the conering limit is on the 914 hey Tim, and thanks for the pointers on the 'lines', much appreciated mate. I think the old tilting 4-pot held up reasonably well considering it's current state of tune, apart from my tussle with a couple of cones (see my other post).

Mike, really felt for you buddy and I hope the trailer ride home wasnt too painful, at least the AA guy was a happy chap. pm me when you get that alt bearing and we'll have you back on the road in no time.

And lastly thanks to Tim(watsham) for the mini convoy home, it certainly made the journey go quicker and relieved some of the monotony that is M1.

I can't wait for another one now, I'm hooked

I too had a superb day, the 3.0 SC I was driving was interesting but not as much fun as my afternoon toy ( thanks philip ).

I'll second that James from the point of view of a trackday virgin it was perfect, 1st couple of laps I was being ovetaken on every straight by the later cars and got a sinking feeling of oh no here we go, but as the day panned out there became more and more space, it just worked so well.
