Red Lenses and Orange Indicator Lights

Has anyone successfully done this? Done some research and there is differing opinions whether green or orange LED lights work best. At the same time I only want to do it if it actually works. TIA

In theory the greens should work better. Although with incandescent bulbs I've found orange works considerably better than green does behind red lenses.

I use orange LEDs with my red rear lenses and they shine bright orange - enough to keep MOT inspectors happy at two different stations.

Great thanks keith. I believe classic car leds sell them, so will get in touch with them.
ps the reason is I still have my US lenses, I bought some aftermarket euro ones years ago and the red brake light lens is fading to orange. So I need to do something. One option was buying red led brake light bulbs. Buying new lenses. But I quite fancy putting the original lenses on, so needed a solution for orange indicators.

The red lenses look better in my opinion! I got my bulbs from Classic LEDs - is used them at the front for the side lights and turn signals, too, with Euro lenses.

excellent, they are currently out of stock so will get once they are back in. Did you need to get a new flasher relay? Also very stupid question, but how do I know whether I need negative or positive polarity.

If you go on line ( even Amazon) you’ll find flasher units that are adjustable to compensate for different current loads with led lights.

If you want to keep the euro lenses then glass paint is an easy way to give them more life, its also a nice indoor activity for this time of year.

US lenses look so much better than the Euro version... IMHO, of course.

Like Keith I have orange LEDs behind red US taillight lenses rear and amber/white LED boards from from spokewerks in US
