Spare wheel options

I saw this on Pelican and thought it interesting, especially when it comes to concerns over the safety of our aged spare tyres. There’s also a weight saving. Is anyone with a Boxster able to confirm that the fit of of a UK spare works on our cars?

Good info Ian. Neither option seems particularly appealing but that’s better than carrying around the old tyre for sure.

Agreed. Nige of this parish has just followed up on the Boxster spare idea by going to look at one for sale today. From recollection it was only £40. He found it fitted the car ok but would protrude ca 3 inches higher into the boot space on an 80 litre tank. Not perfect but if you don’t need the boot space so much it’s not a deal breaker I guess.
