You’re never going to get somewhere to suit all of us if it’s just a day meet up
Bicester is too far from up here ( 3.5hrs each way ) just to drive on motorways and stand about chatting for few hours just to drive back again .
Spa in Belgium is closer for me
Clive, I’d be interested in Ireland too

Anything north of Leeds is abroad to me.
Are you the spokesman for the North then .? Not a very positive leader.
Didn't a load of Southerners attend a few DDK events up country years ago.... wonder if there was uproar back then. How is it being selfish if Someone from Leeds, Swansea, Norfolk, Brighton all can get to a central point in under 3 hours.?

What about somewhere like Great Northern Classics, which isn’t really Northern but may feel that way to some southerners….
Near Derby, so maybe more acceptable?

What would work really well, is to attend a sprint at Curborough where there is ample parking, entry is £zero or next to zero, there is interesting stuff going on and we'd be free to stand about in a field next to the sprint course having a barbecue or whatever because the parking is not segregated from the course. Access is excellent, 2 mins off the A38.
The VSCC events are particularly good with a range of interesting old vehicles. 5th May. I think entry to this as a spectator might be £6.

Curborough sounds a good shout, and a VSCC event could provide good entertainment. I haven’t put a slide rule over the relative distances between north and south contingents though. No doubt anyone feeling hard done by will voice their feelings.

As I see it there are two approaches which make most sense - split North/South, or a single Midlands event. North/South split would get closer to most people. Midlands is usually somewhere between Oxford and Warwick (Greatworth / Caffeine & Machine / Bicester / Boxengasse) - I've been to events in that vicinity a good number of times now and I'm happy to go again. But something North of Birmingham instead of South (e.g. right on my doorstep at Curborough
) would bring a Midlands event within range of more of the Northern members.
