Its definitely true and like all insurance is risk based on stats. Age wise, the most accidents are 17-24, it then plateaus to much lower risk all the way and starts rising again at 80. This is not a debate about whether premiums are fair are not, more that expect to pay more if you are 18 or 80 and less if you are 35 or 55.
