Hi Mike
I was waiting for your expert input...
Your right Mickie was the second owner after Mr Cavalieri.
Here is a copy of the Kardex
Kartex 107156.jpg
But I am a little puzzled when you say you saw her painted black in Southend.
When I bought the car from Glenn Romaine of Ruthin, Wales in 2015 she was Red, and as I stripped off the paint there was no sign of a black respray in fact the dash was the original Porsche applied Ruby Red.

Can you remember what sort of date you saw her in that lock up?
Thanks for your amazing input and hope to meet up soon.
Drew

Well Drew, I guess I am older than I thought- perhaps it was his SC that I viewed ?

It would have been 20 or 25 years ago - Ritchie put me on to it, maybe he can remember?
He was miffed off because I did not buy it
I cannot even remember what it could have been bought for

I have copies of the AFN Used Car Purchase and Sale but it will be a couple of weeks until I can send copies or what I have
Both Paul and I will be out of the country until nearly the End of August

Glad to be of `some` help

Drew that was good of Mike to tell you that about the paint. It crosed my mind if it were black from the factory it would have been so difficult to have
removed every spec of black from every part of the car. I put a reply on ABCGT to your thread about your car.

Hi Drew

Speaking will Bill the other day and after a few text's he was sent a photo of Mickey's wife with the 356 while they were in SA by his son in law.

Not sure if they keep the reg details in SA for older cars but cool none the less

Cheers
Martin

Hi Martin
Thank you so much for posting this picture of Mickie's wife and my car in South Africa.
It confirms that it came with American overider bumpers from new.
Please pass on my thanks to Bill.

No worries,

From my experience of driving in SA you need all the bumper protection you can get!!

Must pop over and see you at some point

There's a coffee or beer waiting for you.

You wait for a famous music producer's Porsche to come up for sale and then, like buses, another comes along!

Thanks Jonno for that link.
Probably a little faster than his first Porsche and slightly more expensive today.
By the way 68 BTR is still waiting for it's next owner.
Cheers

Apropos of nothing much at all, when I was in the BBC I used to go to the annual programme market in Cannes. The commercial arm of the BBC used to rent Mickie Most’s villa there. The Daily Mail jumped on this ‘extravagance’ in an ‘exposé’:

The BBC of course expected this and had the spreadsheets to prove that housing all their sales execs, and entertaining and feeding all their prospective sales clients in Cannes hotels and restaurants would cost substantially more than Mickey’s £20k rental, not to mention the increased sales they achieved from being in such a great environment..

Anyway, Mickey had his cars in the garage below the house. I’m sad to report that I don’t remember any Porsches, but there was a rather lovely convertible Rolls..
