Crank Sensor Wiring

Post by MikeS911 »

Hi All.
I have a Bosch/Porsche Crank Sensor P/N 996 606 105 205, Bosch # 0 261 210 205 (superseeded for the 964/993) Which has a new connector, I have the parts for the harness to update the harness end, but the original connector on my harness has disintegrated and the terminals need replacing.
I know which terminal is the shield, but the question I have is does it matter which way of the other two terminals are fitted, IE: as the sensor is just a coil around the magnet core, does it matter which is the ground and which is the signal. On the sensor which terminal number is the signal and which is the ground. (NOTE, this is not for a normal Bosch ECU.)
Hope someone can help.
Thanks MikeS
