A collection of Abarths

Post by 911hillclimber »

During our recent French Trip and on the recommendation of fellow DDK'r FCD we paid a visit to the Chateau de Savighy les Beaune.
John's taste in a Good Day Out is very close to ours so we knew it would be good. However, this one really took my breath away, and was the high light of the trip.

I'll let the mass of pictures do the work, but in a large attic in the Chateau is a collection of Abarth race car, nothing prepared me for this sight.

And of course the field of jets! This is about 1/4 of the collection.

That’s fantastic, must visit. Is it associated with the wine ?

Then there are also the 1000s of scale models and motor bikes etc - an incedible place.

And most of the cars (if not all) had been raced by the (chateau) owner.
