Hi can anybody tell me how to tell what steering column is fitted to my 73 911 which has been re-shelled with a later body. at the moment it has a Momo hub that although fits the splines sits too far away to cancel indicators. I am also looking to buy a period momo wheel and need to get correct hub. Cheers.

What is the model number stamped onto the Momo hub (around the 'lip' furthest away from the wheel mounting face) ?
C230 fits all 911's up to July '74
C231 fits all 911's from Aug '74 - '89

Hi Andy. The No. is C230. not C320.

Sorry Tim - temporary brain fade ! I've amended my earlier post.
This indicates that yours is the earlier steering column.

Tim, Andy
My momo wheel ( flat monte carlo) is too much of a reach and sits too close to the dash binnacle.
I was going to turn an alloy spacer (hub to wheel).
Your posts suggest another boss may be easier. My car is '75 with the original column.
What are the differences between the two hubs? If its only depth I could swap my shallow one for Tim's deep one.
