Front 'Euro' lenses for a '67

My '67 has US spec 'all orange' front lenses. I am still debating wether to leave her as she left the factory ( although the rear lenses have already been changes to euro spec) or fit some euro front lenses.
I gather the SWB lenses/light units are one piece. Is it a straight forward job to install eurolenses & can it be done without damaging the originals that are all ready on the car?

Its not dificult to change the lenses you have to break off the tabs that hold on the original then bond on the new ones with clear silicone. I changed my rear lights because you cant show a red indicator and I did not like the idea of amber lenses in the reversing lights. The fronts I have left in situe and used H4'swith sidelights the amber lights are now indicator only, problem solved.

James - you can't remove the existing lenses without damaging them. They are held on by 2 brass hollow rivets (through which the mounting screws pass) & a number of 'melted' plastic tabs on the reverse - you need to drill out the rivets & break off the plastic tabs to remove the lens.
In true 'Haynes manual fashion' installation of the new lenses is the reverse of the removal of the old ones - I use a large soldering iron to melt the tabs on the rear (after you install the brass rivets). As Martin said above, any small gap left around the perimeter of the lens can be sealed using a thin bead of clear silicone.
It's purely personal but I much prefer the look of Euro F&R lamps on early 911/912's.

James,
Just going to agree with Andy and your comments, I ve changed all the lamps on my car from Euro spec since importing, the main reason is just aesthetic, it passed the MOT with orange lenses, I just think they look good, and to be honest in the sea of orange that is my car the break is a welcome change!
