Re: Tyre recommendations
Agree, too high. I think 20mm down from Porsche spec is about right for an early car.
Easy set is to drop the front until the lower wishbones are horizontal to the road and set the rear 1 deg higher using a level on the sills.
Just my take.
Too low and the gearbox can catch the road...
My car set as above.

Re: Tyre recommendations
agree looks US spec ride height which then makes it difficult to judge the stance from the tyres alone

Thanks everyone.
BTW, what about Kleber? (owned by Michelin). Available in 185/70R15 89W for £96 a pop. Also available in many other sizes like 205's

Re: Tyre recommendations
Kleber, the French manufacturer, will soon celebrate a century since its creation, in Paris, in 1910. This brand's history is fundamentally bound to strong events in the tyre historical development: in 1951 it literally started a revolution, with the first tyre having an incorporated inner tube. The constant rush of innovation places Kleber on the sixth place in the European consumers' preferences. These tyres meet invariably three demands: safety, longevity and elegant driving. Lead by its perfectionist philosophy, this constructer invented, only three years ago, a new water draining system, applied to modern tread patterned tyres, the Dynaxer DR. Bought by Michelin, this traditional constructer never stopped to reinforce its own features. A nice resume, because Kleber tyres have often been chosen as original equipment by renowned car brands such as Volkswagen, Opel, Peugeot, Renault or Suzuki.IanM wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 9:22 am Which makes me think - The Kleber 185/70 will have the same carcass (identical) as the XWX, won't it? In other words, the Kleber 185/70 is an XWX in disguise.
There is no way Michelin would have made a different carcass just for the Kleber 185/70 as the tooling would be too expensive.

Re: Tyre recommendations
I’m just looking at this and whilst no expert, I can’t see a Kleber Tyre with a tread pattern that looks like the retro XWX?IanM wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 9:22 am Which makes me think - The Kleber 185/70 will have the same carcass (identical) as the XWX, won't it? I said carcass, not tread pattern.theorangeperil wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 9:58 pmI can’t see a Kleber Tyre with a tread pattern that looks like the retro XWX?
Anyway, I may not be right if the carcass is the same as the XWX one (185/70) - it's just what I believe.

Is the feeling that those are any good?
I had currently got Toyo Proxes TF1 on this list but an initial call on Saturday afternoon suggested they might not be easy to get hold of.
Of course a Monday search might reveal more sources…

Re: Tyre recommendations
I was wrong to compare the Kleber with the XWX. I didn't realise the XWX has a lower speed rating than the Kleber. I have deleted my above post.
