So Restoration Design are selling every single body panel so that you can build your own steel based speedster. That sounds like a whole lot of fun.

With clever buying of original Porsche 356 maybe a wreck, suspension, engine, steering you could potentially get it through IVA and register for the UK roads. Avoiding the Q plate might be interesting.

Maybe this would be considered a restoration and could be registered as the original / donor parts. So a basket case car restored with 95% new parts/ panels would still be considered as an original, right?

What ever you call it, it would certainly be a very challenging enjoyable project and identical to the original.

Great news from a parts availability perspective.

I can't imagine there are many more Speedster wrecks out there to be fixed and there are probably already enough Coupsters and kits to satisfy demand.

If you're fortunate enough to be shopping for a Speedster though buyer beware of zombie cars resurrected from dead chassis numbers...

There are currently two Speedsters undergoing restoration wearing the Jimmy Dean chassis number. The government can print more money so maybe it's just quantitative easing of Speedsters
