Dougal, I have read many great things about the Pirelli cn36 tyres with their rounded carcass being more suited to early Porsche 911/912. I have read on your web page that the later cars (Post 86?) were developed differently to suit the more modern tyre carcasses at that time. Do you know what differences were made to the post 86 Porsche 911 to suit these modern tyres? I’m just curious.

Hi

Just a little heads up.

A lorry turned up at the Longstone tyres today with a fresh load of the 185/70VR15 CN36.

https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classi ... 36-n5.html

perfect timing. I had very nearly run out.

I’ll take that as you are giving them out for free as you suddenly have so many of them?! :D I’ll take 4 in that case even though I already bought CN36’s from you

Erm well i wouldnt say were actually giving them away free. However if you look at this set of tyres

https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/tyres/ ... 36-n5.html

you will be forced to agree they are nearly free! (joking apart the Pirelli is actually cheaper that any other 185/70VR15 tyres yopu would consider.)

Was worth a shot  That is a good price, I ended up getting the 165’s from you a while back as went with the group 4 wheels and sold my original 7” Torqs which is what I was planning on running the 185’s on.

Thinner is nicer

Did you drive it on the wider wheels? I would expect it to be a much nicer road car on a thinner rim.

Now have a set of OG minilites as well, as a 2nd set of wheels. Wanted to put something a little wider and stickier on those for when I feel like it. Any suggestions?

Quite like Toyo R888R’s but not sure a 195/50 is the most suitable size

oo that won't handle as well.

185/70R15 CN36 is OK. yes they are fatter, but they do still have the right kind of carcass for your car and will handle nicely as a result.
