I’m no expert, but it looks like the insurance industry lobby has been working overtime on Boris. No doubt the cancellation of mass events follows along the same lines. Hence Goodwood is likely to postpone and not cancel. Bicester Scramble has just done that.

I agree with them, if its the right thing to do then close everything like the French and others have done. Its like travel, avoid non essential travel without FCO advising means you can't claim on your insurance and lose your money if you don't go.

Understandable. The claims forecasts will now be a stress test levels. I hear new claims procedures are now being put in place for certain sectors like personal illness cover. The warning is claims will be declined if the new process is not followed to the letter. Luckily the new accounting rules for insurance haven’t been implemented yet, so it’s more a cash flow risk as I see it. Under the new rules the balance sheets would have taken a hammering I suspect.

Incredible that Goodwood's only announcement is three days old. Their only Facebook post today is about testing yesterday as if nothing is going on in the outside world.
I can't see how that last sentence will lead to anything but cancellation (or rather postponement so they don't have to refund...), but only because they're forced into it.
