Isn’t that an mfi engine in the pics? Used in the USA market 911 2.4t prior to the introduction of the cis engine.

Sorry - I didn't look at the pictures !!

As has already been pointed out that's a US 2.4T mfi engine.

The CIS 2.4T engine was introduced early in 1973 as a less costly alternative to mfi & only lasted approx 6 months because the engines were then enlarged to 2.7 litres.

The '73.5 2.4T is a great car &, for many years, was grossly underrated & hence one of the last 'bargains' of the early 911 range ...

Just to add my bit - I think the 73.5 CIS car is brilliant.
Once it is set up it is really nice and stays on tune.
I have done over 70,000 miles in mine.
As an aside the emissions are rather better than the MFI system - the co2 set to be between 1.5 - 2.0.
And the mpg is usually in the mid to high 20s rather than about 15 on a good day on my E.
I know people get a bit sniffy about them but it has served me well as has the Targa option now the summers are often longer and hotter.

How can it be 15 times better? Are you exaggerating?

I am not sure quite what you mean but the mpg figures for the E maybe are a bit.
The E was set rich and would only get more than about 15 mpg on a long fast run when it might get nearer 20.
However the CIS car does not give good mpg if only driven in town when it is probably 12-15mpg but overall it is pretty good.
The mixture on the CIS car is set by the CO2 which is as stated.

I think someone is comparing co2 reading and mpg - hmmmmmmmmmm ................

my 2.4 E averaged about 15mpg too ................ 11 / 12 on shorter runs , and up closer to 20 on a long steady run .

Economical they are not !!
Royal Enfield .. still in India
GL 1800 Tour DCT, for pleasure / Fantic 240 Professional - play
