Tracker time.
It's that time of the year again, the clocks go back and the thieving scum crawl out from under their stones.
My car is stored as securely as possible but I am interested to hear of any recent advancements in tracker technology and any happy customers.
I posted here in 356 mainly because my car is 6 volt and wonder if anyone has a hard wired tracker that works successfully with a 6v supply. Maybe a battery powered system is the way to go ? I can see battery technology and longevity has come on in the last few years. Maybe a 12v system works quite happily with a 6v supply.
Understandable if you'd prefer not to discuss you security on a forum but any general advice would be welcome.

Re: Tracker time.
It should be relatively easy to get a 6v to 12v step up converter for the kind of currents a tracker would use.

I did my research on these a while ago and found that the cheapest and best was an old mobile phone wired into the car somewhere out of sight, with its own cheap SIM. Can be tracked just about anywhere.

Hello, I got one from a company that does business with Brooklands museum and if it's good enouh for them it's good enough for me. Great to do business with, it works brilliantly, 6V not a problem &small enough to hide.
I flagged it up in the registry http://forum.porsche356registry.org/vie ... 034ba33835. and on this website in June

If you want to power it with 12V you can get a 6-12V step up transformer for buttons on EBay, I use one to power an updated original radio.
